Hi Folks,
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new farm stand refrigerator! For all who donated to the new refrigerator fund we thank you so much. It is an awesome group of people who come to our farm. We have moved things around in the stand to accommodate the new refrigerator. Give us a week and we’ll have everything in its place. In the meantime the egg supply is good and we have some carrots for sale also. Plant sales will begin as the weather warms up. Currently we have raspberry and cherry tomato starts available. This cold snap has slowed our greens down but hopefully with warmer weather they’ll be ready in 3 or 4 weeks.
In the big wind the plastic, which was getting old blew off the big greenhouse. We’ve invested in a new bubble type plastic which is more wind resistant and should last 10 years. You may see Jim and Jeremy up on ladders putting it on in the next couple weeks.
Happy spring, it is coming!

Hi Folks,
For those of you who like lots of veggies and berries it’s time for CSA sign ups. As usual we will start in May with greens as soon as they are ready for harvest and continue a weekly pick up through October with the last harvest a box of vegetables for winter storage. The cost this year is $650. We take cash, checks and electronic payments through Venmo. If you wish to pay through Venmo, the transaction fee is 2%, ($13). Please add that to your payment. We look forward to another growing season.

Hi Folks,
We continue to have a regular supply of farm fresh eggs from Shelbi, our granddaughter. There are also random bags of vegetables that we find here and there. Seed starting begins at the end of February, our unseasonably warm weather has been good for pruning all the berry bushes. We’ll put out info on the CSA next week.

Hello Fields Farm friends and Family! Farm worker Jeremy here. With all this warm weather I’ve been thinking about the upcoming growing season. Can you believe this will be Jim and Debbie’s 33rd year of organic farming in Central Oregon?!? To celebrate this anniversary I am organizing a gift for these two wonderful folks—a new refrigerator for the sales shed!
Please consider contributing to the anniversary gift here:
Here’s Debbie and the existing fridge…
Check out the fundraising site https://gofund.me/cfb2d329 to see pictures of what could be there instead!
This is not a secret from them, so feel free to ask questions!
Looking forward to another great growing season. See you at the farm!
Jeremy

Hi Folks,
We had six Snow Geese stop by the farm this week. For years Canadian Geese have found a winter haven on the farm but this winter we’ve been blessed with White Fronted Geese and for the first time ever these beautiful Snow Geese. The farm stand is open for egg and potato sales. If the door is closed just slide it open, help yourself and close it when you leave.

Hi Folks,
Though our sign keeps blowing down, we are open daily during daylight hours. We have all varieties of potatoes, carrots, sauerkraut, eggs and bits of other veg. If it’s below freezing you may have to open the farm stand door. Look in the grey frig or the big white coolers if there are no bags on the table. Thanks to all of you who returned quart jars.

Hi Folks,
The last batch of Sauerkraut for the season is in the grey refrigerator. It is raw sauerkraut so will need to be refrigerated. We keep it in our frig for 3 months with no problems. Potatoes, carrots and a few onions, garlic and winter squash are also available. Eggs may be available by Thursday. Come on by.

Hi Folks,
This week at the farm stand we have all our potatoes, carrots(juicing too), cabbage, collards, a few onions, a few garlic and eggs. If you have some of the wide mouth canning jars that we use for sauerkraut cluttering your cupboards we’d love to have them back. We’ll have another crock of sauerkraut ready next week. Come on by.
